Teyana Taylor

About

Teyana Taylor is a fresh curd with an unexpected depth, soft and inviting on the surface, but with a surprising richness waiting to be discovered. Watch her in A Thousand and One. She carries the film as Inez, a mother navigating life in New York, and Taylor builds a performance of quiet resilience and fierce protection. It is a portrait of a woman making impossible choices, played with clear conviction. Coming 2 America showed a lighter touch, while Straw highlighted her command of the screen in a dramatic register. Taylor approaches each role with a willingness to explore the messy truth of a character. There is a delicious, slightly salty bite to her work that leaves you wanting more.
