Morfydd Clark is a fresh curd with a surprising amount of complexity, suggesting a much older cheese has been folded into its tender core. Her performances have a soft, inviting surface that hides something far more intense within. Start with Saint Maud. Maud is a private nurse in a seaside town, and Clark lets the surface calm curdle into something truly unsettling, often with little dialogue. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power asks for an entirely different register, and she carries Galadriel with a watchful authority, a quiet steel that never needs to shout. Love & Friendship gave her a sharper, more arch turn, while The Personal History of David Copperfield allowed for a gentle kindness. In Starve Acre, she plays a young mother facing a strange grief, and the performance lives in the unspoken weight of it. She is still very much a young cheese, but the flavour is already deep and layered.
