Danny Glover

About

Danny Glover is a slow-aged Gouda, smooth and warm, with crystals of quiet steel that have been gathering for decades. He brings a comforting presence, then lets the integrity show. Start with Lethal Weapon. Roger Murtaugh is a family man who just wants a quiet life, and Glover plays the exasperation with a deeply human charm, letting his partner’s chaos wash over him. The Color Purple gave him Mister, a man whose cruelty slowly breaks down, and Glover lets a flicker of softness show through the hard rind of the character. In To Sleep with Anger, he carries the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead, showing a man whose past catches up to him. Sorry to Bother You puts him in a smaller role, but he still lands with gravitas. Like a fine Gouda, he provides a warm, dependable presence that only gets richer with time.
