unfortunately…this was 50 shades of bland :( i have yet to see her with some character depth. her bangs are goals though as per usual

Dakota Johnson is a fresh burrata with a surprising amount of nerve inside. Soft and bright on first taste, with a lot more going on in the middle than you expected. Fifty Shades of Grey is where she showed that unexpected core, taking a character who could be passive and giving her a quiet strength. Watch her in A Bigger Splash, where her character Penelope arrives, all sunshine and apparent innocence, yet the film's temperature shifts around her. She plays the disruption with a light touch. In Suspiria, she leaned into something far darker, committing to the film's unsettling mood with a grounded performance. The Lost Daughter gave her a watchful stillness, observing the film's central mystery unfold. Johnson is the rare cheese that works on any board, and keeps surprising you every time it comes out.
